On an official visit to Tirana, Sir Nicolas Bratza, President of the European Court of Human Rights, was welcomed by Bamir Topi, President of the Republic of Albania, and Sali Berisha, the Prime Minister. He also met Edmond Haxhinasto, President of the Committee of Ministers, who assured him of Albania’s commitment to implementing the Convention in Albania, while encouraging States parties to establish policies and practices conforming to the principles laid down in the Convention.
